    Well….guess what? Another WordCamp…surprise surprise!

    This time, I’ll be at WordCamp Savannah on August 21st and 22nd, and I’m excited to be there as I have never been to Georgia before.  I am a little worried about the humidity, but I’m sure I’ll survive.

    This is actually a 3 day event. Friday the 20th will be a Pre-WordCamp Workshop day where you can get your own domain and site setup and get familiarized with WordPress before the actual event. This is a great idea for those who want to start a site but aren’t just quite sure how. Lisa-Sabin Wilson will be heading up this workshop, so anyone attending will be in good hands.

    9seeds is sponsoring this event and I was asked to do a short version of my PHP/CSS for Beginners presentation as well as hang out at the Genius Bar on Sunday the 22nd. So I’ll do a quick version of how to understand and modify PHP and CSS for beginners and then answer the flood of questions that will probably come into the Genius Bar on Sunday. If you have WordPress questions and have not taken advantage of a Genius Bar at WordCamps you’re missing out…it’s a great resource to get questions answered. I’m sure it will be a great time and the list of speakers looks great, so if you don’t have a ticket yet you really should go get one!

    So, Savannah looks like a great city and I’m looking forward to seeing it and catching up with WordPress friends there. Hope to see you there!

    Drop Thesis For Half Price

    With the licensing controversy between WordPress and the Thesis theme, there are a lot of users having to rethink what theme they want to use for their WordPress site. Matt Mullenweg has made an open invitation to purchase a GPL compliant theme for anyone wanting to move away from Thesis. As part of the WordPress community we would like to do our part and offer to install and modify a new GPL compliant theme for half price*!

    What does this mean? It means….if you want rid of Thesis and want to give your site a whole new look, we’ll do the conversion for you for half price*!

    If you’re interested in keeping your site’s existing look and still want a conversion, then you can visit our friends at WebDevStudios where they have a sale for that running currently.

    9seeds at CMS Expo

    So just when you thought you had us figured out, we switch things around. 9seeds at a non-WordCamp event? Yes, it’s true!

    Shayne will be presenting at the CMS Expo in Chicago on Tuesday, May 4th. This is the first year that WordPress has a track at CMS Expo and we’re very excited to be a part of it. Shayne will be presenting “WP Ecommerce and other must-have WordPress plugins”. This presentation will cover (as the title eludes to) must-have plugins for your WordPress site. He will talk about must-have plugins as well as give a live demonstration of each, followed by a Q&A session.

    If you’re in the area, you should definitely grab a ticket and plan on learning a lot! There will also be tracks for Drupal, Joomla and Plone platforms as well, so no matter what CMS you’re using, there will be something there for everyone.

    9seeds at WordCamp San Francisco

    Have we told you how much we love WordCamp events? I think we might have, and here we are again…WordCamp San Francisco this weekend! This WordCamp is proving to be a very cool and very large event and we are very excited to be attending.

    We are also excited about this event since the whole 9seeds crew will be attending. Living in different cities we don’t see each other as often as we’d like, so times like this are very cool for us to get to hang out! So, if you’re attending make sure and find one of us (or all of us) and say hello and we might just have some free stickers to give away.

    Shayne will be at the Genius Bar on Saturday so if you have WordPress questions, make sure and stop by…it’s a great place to get free, useful information about your WordPress site.

    The event will take place on Saturday, May 1st at the Mission Bay Conference Center in San Francisco. There will also be an unconference meetup for developer’s on Sunday, May 2nd at Pier 38. You can get more information about this at the WordCamp San Francisco site.

    9seeds in Boston

    Well, it’s that time again…9seeds will be in Boston for WordCamp Boston 2010 on January 23rd!

    As you all know, we love attending WordCamps. It’s a great way to meet new people, from end users to other developers and everyone in between. We will also be sponsoring this event as well as having Shayne there presenting. Shayne’s topic will be “WordPress, PHP and CSS, Oh My!”, where he will explain that without formal training and education, you can edit and modify your own WordPress theme and/or plugins. Shayne is self-taught and is going to show how he learned how to do what it is he does…and show everyone else how to as well!

    As we mentioned, we’re sponsoring the event…but it doesn’t stop there. We have a few surprises up our sleeve, but you’ll have to attend to find out what they are and at this point, the event is completely sold out! So we hope you have your tickets ready, because this is shaping up to be a incredible WordCamp and good times and lots of learning to be had by all.
